Note: These terms apply to all users including customers, farmers, homemakers, and visitors.
2. Platform Description
Shaaka is an online marketplace that connects:
- Customers seeking fresh, organic produce and homemade food
- Farmers selling organic crops directly to consumers
- Homemakers offering homemade, healthy food items
We facilitate transactions but are not a party to the actual sale between buyers and sellers.
3. User Accounts
3.1 Registration
- You must provide accurate and complete information during registration
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account
- One person may not maintain multiple accounts
3.2 Account Security
- You are responsible for all activities under your account
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms
4. For Customers
4.1 Orders and Payments
- All orders are subject to availability and acceptance by sellers
- Prices are displayed in Indian Rupees (INR) and include applicable taxes
- Payment must be made at the time of order placement
- We use secure payment gateways to process transactions
4.2 Delivery
- Delivery times are estimates and may vary
- You must provide accurate delivery information
- Risk of loss passes to you upon delivery
4.3 Returns and Refunds
- Due to the perishable nature of products, returns are limited
- Refunds are provided for damaged or incorrect items
- Claims must be made within 24 hours of delivery
- Refunds are processed within 7-10 business days
5. For Farmers
5.1 Product Listings
- All products must be accurately described
- Products must be certified organic or clearly labeled otherwise
- You must maintain adequate inventory
- Pricing must be fair and competitive
5.2 Quality Standards
- All produce must be fresh and of good quality
- Products must be free from harmful pesticides and chemicals
- Proper packaging and handling is required
- Compliance with food safety regulations is mandatory
5.3 Payments
- Payments are processed after successful delivery
- Platform commission: 10% of order value
- Payments are transferred within 3-5 business days
6. For Homemakers
6.1 Food Safety
- All food items must be prepared in hygienic conditions
- Compliance with local food safety regulations is required
- Proper food handling and storage practices must be followed
- Allergen information must be clearly stated
6.2 Product Information
- Accurate ingredient lists must be provided
- Preparation and expiry dates must be clearly mentioned
- Nutritional information should be included when possible
7. Prohibited Activities
Warning: The following activities are strictly prohibited and may result in account termination.
- Selling non-organic products as organic
- Providing false or misleading information
- Engaging in fraudulent activities
- Harassing or abusing other users
- Violating any applicable laws or regulations
- Attempting to circumvent platform fees
- Using the platform for any illegal purpose
8. Intellectual Property
All content on Shaaka, including text, graphics, logos, and software, is the property of Shaaka or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
- You may not copy, modify, or distribute our content without permission
- User-generated content remains the property of the user
- By posting content, you grant us a license to use it on our platform
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- Shaaka is not liable for the quality, safety, or legality of products listed
- We are not responsible for disputes between buyers and sellers
- Our total liability is limited to the amount paid for the specific transaction
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
Important: While we strive to ensure quality, we act as a marketplace facilitator and cannot guarantee the actions of individual sellers.
10. Dispute Resolution
In case of disputes:
- Contact our customer support team first
- We will attempt to mediate between parties
- If unresolved, disputes will be subject to arbitration in Bangalore, India
- These terms are governed by Indian law
11. Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of modified terms.
12. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account at any time for:
- Violation of these terms
- Fraudulent or illegal activity
- Abuse of the platform or other users
- Non-payment of fees
Upon termination, your right to use the platform ceases immediately.
